“Cardboard Confessionals” Author Mitch Reed to Present a Book Talk at the Brookings Arts Council- April 26
Brookings, SD (April 27, 2018)- Join us for a book signing and discussion with author Mitch Reed. The event will be held in the Main Gallery of the Brookings Arts Council, Thursday April 26th from 6pm-7:30pm.
Reed will discuss his book, “Cardboard Confessionals” which is a book based upon a social project involving students 6th grade though 12th grade, asking them seven questions. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
In this project, students were asked seven questions that required them to take a step back and look at their experiences and their priorities. The confessions that were received through the duration of the project show the resilience of the students around us. Plan to attend to learn more, in an effort to understand and support students by exploring the variety of experiences and backgrounds confessed through a cardboard box.
This is Reed’s first book. He is a graduate of Dakota Wesleyan with a master’s degree in history education, Reed grew up in Brentford, a small town located between Aberdeen and Redfield. While he really never intended to write a book, he is now actively promoting “Cardboard Confessionals”. Currently Reed is the Principal at Deubrook Elementary School in Toronto.
