The Brookings CVB, http://visitbrookingssd.com/events/2nd-annual-frost-fest/, along with its partners are thrilled to bring you the 2nd Annual Frost Fest! Bring the whole family to embrace the chill with more than a dozen frosty activities sprinkled throughout the Brookings community. Frost Fest kicks off Friday night at the Children's Museum of South Dakota for the Snow Ball Dance. The fun continues on Saturday with numerous events for adults to enjoy and plenty of snowy activities for the kids.

Snow Ball Dance // 6:30-8PM @ The Children's Museum of South Dakota: Dress up and get down with music, activities, a photo booth and more! A special night for little ones and their parent or guardian, similar to a Daddy/Daughter dance, but not limited to dads and daughters ($5 admission).
Plein Air Paint IN @ the Dakota Nature Center// 9AM-12PM
Join other artist of all experience levels for a half-day Plein Air paint IN at the incredible Dakota Nature Center! Please bring your own paints, easels and other supplies. You are welcome to bring other art materials such as colored pencil or pastels. At the conclusion of the event we will have a brief ‘wet paint’ show to enjoy everyone’s artistry. - Meet Elsa & Olaf in Downtown Brookings // 9AM-1PM @ Downtown Brookings: Get your picture taken with Elsa & Olaf on our historic Main Avenue in Downtown Brookings, then treat yourself to some local shopping and homegrown lunch options.
Coffee & Canvas // 10AM-1PM @ The Outdoor Adventure Center of South Dakota: Instead of wine, wake up with coffee and no experience necessary watercolor painting. All materials will be provided ($45 admission).
The World Cup: A Tasting of International Hot Drinks // 10AM-1PM @ South Dakota Agricultural Heritage Museum: Enjoy sampling traditional warm beverages from around the world, including coffees, teas, mulled wine and more. Also featuring fresh baked Cottleston bread for sample and purchase (FREE).
Caldwell Coloring Project & Free Hot Chocolate Bar // 10AM-4PM @ South Dakota Art Museum: Make your mark on a public art piece by coloring in one of Ada Caldwell's landscape pieces, to be included in an upcoming exhibit. Oil crayons will be available for students and adults to participate in this group coloring project (FREE).
Discover Alpacas and Other Fiber Crafts // 1-3PM @ McCrory Gardens Education & Visitor Center: Meet & greet with Mom and Baby from local Deer Creek Alpacas farm. Also, the Brookings Fiberworks Guild will be on hand to demonstrate on spinning and weaving fibers.
Ice Fishing / Snow Fort Contest / Snowshoe Challenge / Cross Country Geocache / Ice Skating // 1-4:30PM @ Dakota Nature Park: Bring the kids out to enjoy a fun-filled day in the snow! All these events are free.
